George Malcolm Walker
George Malcolm Walker is a Jamaican director, cinematographer and editor whose work spans narrative film, commercial storytelling, music videos, documentary, branded content and live productions. His films centre on emotion, identity, family, culture and the human experience, and have been recognised at film festivals in Jamaica, across the Caribbean and internationally.

01 — Story
Where it started.
George grew up in Westphalia, a small community in the hills below Jamaica’s Blue Mountains — a long way from any film set.
His way in was sideways: through technology, music and visual art. He was recording songs and designing graphics long before he directed, and all three still shape how he works — the patience of a technologist, the ear of a musician, the eye of a designer.
He studied Information and Communication Technology at the Vocational Training Development Institute (VTDI), making films alongside his studies — writing, shooting, cutting, grading and scoring them himself.
Today he works across the whole of the craft — directing, shooting, editing and grading narrative shorts, commercials, corporate and institutional films, documentaries and live music sessions, both for his own projects and for other directors, brands and organisations. That mix of filmmaking, post-production, technology and creative leadership lets him move comfortably between a director’s chair, a camera crew and a client meeting.

Teaching has always run alongside the work. George has delivered film and lighting training, designed learning programmes as an instructional designer, mentored young filmmakers, and spoken as a guest lecturer and on Jamaican television about making films from the Caribbean.
